Fighter Jets Intercept Unauthorized Aircraft Over Trump’s N.J. Property

The U.S. Air Force reported six violations of restricted airspace over Bedminster, New Jersey, during President Donald Trump’s stay at his residence there over the weekend.
One of the incursions, all involving general aviation aircraft, prompted North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) fighter jets to intercept, Newsweek reported early Monday.
In recent months, multiple general aviation aircraft have violated restricted airspace over Bedminster, New Jersey, while President Donald Trump was staying at his golf club. Military officials warn that such breaches of Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) pose risks to national security and presidential safety, with the latest incidents adding to concerns over vulnerabilities.
According to the U.S. Air Force, six violations occurred over the weekend. Two took place on Saturday, including one at 1:55 p.m. that required NORAD fighter jets to intercept after deploying flares to get the pilot’s attention, the outlet reported.
The Air Force said the flares, which may have been visible to the public, were deployed with the utmost regard for the safety of the intercepted aircraft and people on the ground. Four additional TFR violations were reported Sunday.
“Six general aviation aircraft violated Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) airspace over Bedminster, New Jersey. In addition to two unauthorized incursions yesterday, including one requiring an intercept by North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) fighter aircraft, there were four violations today,” the Air Force noted in a statement.
The service added on X: “Attention, Aviators! There have been six TFR violations near Bedminster, NJ this weekend. Check NOTAMS before EVERY flight. Stay Safe, Fly Informed!”

“…Bringing the total to 4 unauthorized incursions over the course of Saturday and Sunday.”
Pray President Trump remains safe.🙏
Officials reminded general aviation pilots that TFR rules are mandatory, requiring them to check all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) before each flight, Newsweek noted.
NORAD employs a layered defense system of radars, satellites, and fighter jets to detect and respond to potential threats, said the outlet.
Similar incidents have occurred in the past. On July 6, eleven private aircraft violated temporary airspace restrictions over Trump’s Bedminster golf club the previous weekend.
F-16s were dispatched to intercept several of the planes, performing “headbutt” maneuvers — flying close and cutting directly in front of the target aircraft’s nose — to capture the pilots’ attention, according to the New York Post.
Meanwhile, the president is grieving the loss of close friend Charlie Kirk, the conservative youth influencer and founder of Turning Point USA, who was assassinated at an event at Utah Valley University last week.
Trump said he spoke to Erika Kirk, Charlie’s widow, a day after the murder, saying she was “devastated” by what happened.
“I spoke to Erika, his wife. And we had a long talk,” Trump said. “And she’s devastated. She is absolutely devastated, as you can imagine.”
Trump also said he has an “indication” of what motivated Kirk’s assassin to carry out the attack but declined to provide details.
He only noted that there have been “rapid developments” in the hunt for the Turning Point USA founder’s killer. Police have since arrested Tyler Robinson, 22, of Utah.
Earlier in the day, Trump announced that Kirk would be posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor.
“Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty and an inspiration to millions and millions of people,” Trump said.
“I’m pleased to announce that I will soon be awarding Charlie Kirk posthumously the Presidential Medal of Freedom,” he added.
