Popular American sitcom and movie actor Tom Bower has passed away. He is most famous for his roles in “The Waltons” and “Die Hard 2.” Bower was 86.
The star died in his Los Angeles home on May 30. It has been reported in The Hollywood Reporter that Bower died in his sleep. Per USA Today, Marsha McManus, Tom’s representative confirmed his death in an email. “He was an extraordinary human being,” McManus said.
The actor was born in Denver, Colorado. He started studying under John Cassavetes’ Shadows Workshop. His first film was ‘Shadows’ made in 1957.
Tom started working in television in the early 1970s. On television, Tom Bower has made guest appearances on many popular TV shows. Some of his notable TV credits include “The Waltons,” “The X-Files,” “Breaking Bad,” “Ray Donovan,” and “Better Call Saul.” His ability to adapt to many roles had made him a sought out character actor.
Bower was featured in supporting roles in numerous films, including “Die Hard 2” (1990), “The Hills Have Eyes” (2006), “Crazy Heart” (2009), and “Out of the Furnace” (2013). His versatility as an actor has allowed him to take on various characters, he often portrayed authority figures or everyman types.
Bower leaves behind two children, four grandchildren, a brother and sister. His wife Ursula passed away in 2023.
